NetNewsWire overview
NetNewsWire is the best way to keep up with the sites and authors you read most regularly. Let NetNewsWire pull down the latest articles, and read them in a distraction-free and Mac-like way.
- Native Interface. NetNewsWire looks right at home in OS X
- Find Later. Bookmark individual articles, mark sites as your favorites, and search everything.
- Sharing. Send articles to Instapaper, Twitter, or Facebook.
- Popular Feeds. If you're just getting started, NetNewsWire can suggest some great reading material.
- Distraction-free. Reading articles in a browser means putting up with ads and sidebars. NetNewsWire focuses on content.
- Tabs. For the true reading lover, NetNewsWire easily keeps track of multiple articles open at the same time.
What's new in version 7.2
- Added unread count display setting — show the count, show a dot, or hide it — which applies to the Dock icon badge, window title, and sidebar
- Added column layout for the timeline — choose View > Use Column Layout
- Expanded View > Sort Articles By with more options (works with standard and column layouts)
- Made timeline sorting per window instead of one setting for the whole app
- Made the Add Feed sheet start with the folder or account selected in the sidebar
- Changed the message for adding a feed that’s already added to include the name of the folder (or folders)
- Fixed bug where YouTube embeds in articles showed an error instead of playing
- Fixed bug where embedded videos with no set height — such as Inoreader’s YouTube player — collapsed to a short strip
- Fixed extra whitespace at the end of Slashdot articles and paragraphs running together
- Fixed parsing of RSS feed titles when a feed contains a textinput section (Slashdot, for instance)
- Added support for the instapaper_ignore class — elements marked with it are now removed from articles
- Changed tabs in pre and code elements in articles to display as four spaces
- Improved finding feeds in a page by skipping links to PDFs, movies, and other files that can’t be feeds
- Changed finding a feed to use the redirected-to URL
- Sped up Today and unread count queries
- Added up to 500 characters of the HTTP error response body to Error Log entries
- Fixed bug where the sidebar could reopen with no width when it had been collapsed in 7.1.x
- Fixed a memory leak when closing a main window
- Fixed a possible crash when the sidebar or timeline had no visible rows
- Changed sorting by title and by feed to sort numbers by value — “Episode 2” comes before “Episode 10”
- Added support for Substack-style footnotes
- Improved CJK text rendering in the article view by adding text-autospace
- Fixed horizontal overflow of WordPress Math blocks and SVGs in the Tiqoe Dark theme
- Improved font sizing and fixed superscript orphans in table cells in the Tiqoe Dark theme

Version: 6.1.6
Very reliable app. Sadly it still lacks support for Nextcloud news, which is a bummer.

Version: 6.0.1
Version 6 is a welcome change. NetNewsWire is much more modern than the last time I used it years ago. There are only a few missing features I need. Like the ability to change the font and font size of the articles and the ability to change how the article list is displayed.
Great to see NetNewsWire on the right track.

It's FREE on developer's site. Like it used to be years ago. Thank you!
